Silence the gene.
Power the therapy.
We are speeding up the discovery and development of innovative treatments for rare genetic diseases
Founded in science,
guided by expertise
Silthera is a biotech startup and spin-off from the University of L’Aquila. It develops therapies based on small interfering RNA (siRNA) for rare genetic diseases with high unmet medical needs, combining expertise in molecular biology, bioinformatics and artificial intelligence. It was founded by three scientists with experience in international academic research and in translating science into therapeutic programmes. The aim is to accelerate the discovery of new therapies, making them more targeted and reproducible.

The data-to-drug approach putting patients first
At the heart of Silthera’s technology lies the Silthera Platform: a proprietary system that combines genetic and biological data with computational analysis and experimental validation in order to support the discovery and optimisation of siRNA-based therapies.
Thanks to the Silthera Platform, we can reduce the time, complexity and risk involved in the early stages of research by translating biological complexity into therapeutic programmes with greater precision.
